A Crystalline SRM for the Analysis of Glucose in Clinical Samples

This Standard Reference Material (SRM) is intended primarily for use in calibrating measuring systems employed for the analysis of glucose in clinical samples.  This SRM will help ensure accuracy and comparability of routine clinical assays.

Glucose is the main sugar found in blood and is an important source of energy.  Glucose levels can be measured to track the response to glucose-lowering therapy.  This SRM was developed as a crystalline SRM for commonly measured glucose levels in clinical samples.

The SRM source material was obtained from a commercial supplier.  The certified value of chemical purity was determined using a quantitative 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (q1H‑NMR) measurement procedure.

A unit of SRM 917d consists of one bottle containing approximately 50 g of D‑glucose.
