Google's services have been affected by serious networking issues in the eastern part of the United States, affecting multiple services in Google Cloud, G Suite and YouTube, the company says.
Update, 10.30am AEST: A Google spokesperson said the outage had been resolved by 4pm Pacific Time (9am AEST).
"We will conduct a post-mortem and make appropriate improvements to our systems to prevent this from happening again," the spokesperson said.
"We sincerely apologise to those who were impacted by today’s issues. Customers can always find the most recent updates on our systems on our status dashboard."
Original report continues: A spokesperson said, in response to queries, that users may see slow performance or intermittent errors.
"We believe we have identified the root cause of the congestion and expect to return to normal service shortly," the spokesperson added.

The company's G Suite Status page shows that Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Sliges, Sites, Groups, Hangouts (plus its Chat and Meet), Vault, Forms, Keep, Tasks and Voice are all affected.
The outage does not appear to be global with both Gmail and YouTube working as they should in Melbourne.
