RAMSTEIN AIR FORCE BASE---With change comes new faces in new places. The 691st Cyberspace Operations Squadron and Sixteenth Air Force (Air Force’s Cyber) welcomed new leadership teams this past Summer. U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Kevin Kennedy, Sixteenth Air Force Commander made his way to Ramstein Air Force Base to meet the 691st COS “Hellhound” team for a senior leader immersion brief.
LT. Gen. Kennedy and Command Chief Master Sgt. Kenneth Bruce presented commander's coins to Staff Sgt. Clark, Staff Sgt. Green, Senior Airman Matsueda, Airman 1st Class Hernandez, Airman 1st Class Ratzlaff, and Airman 1st Class Ortega. The Hellhound team provided a mission brief explaining their transition to a "Center of Excellence" for Storage & Virtualization operations across the Air Force enterprise.
“ It was an honor to meet Lt. Gen. Kennedy, but more than that, it was awesome seeing our airmen interact with the general and learn first-hand how much he values our squadron's contribution to the overarching Sixteenth Air Force mission,” said U.S. Air Force 1st Lieutenant Nicholas Gildenmeister.
“When speaking about adversaries such as China and other advanced persistent threats, General Kennedy stressed the importance of what we do here at the 691st to ensure the confidentiality, availability and integrity of our enterprise network.”
As operators of the Cyberspace Security and Control System, we are the guardians of that key terrain enabling warfighters across the force, Gildmeister Added.
During the brief this summer, the Squadron commander addressed the Hellhounds on his objectives during command.
